Random post 2

Lately, I have immersed myself in music and have been replaying albums or certain artists at all times. This is probably because I have had to study a lot in the past couple of days and drove to Mammoth Mountain. And so, the only thing on my mind besides credits and debits (accounting) or case studies has been what I have been listening to.

Welcome to what has recently been playing in my ears or crossed my brain:

Okay, I know that country music is not for everyone, but I am a proud country music listener. I love the story-telling style of the lyrics and the more overall wholesome vibe. Luckily, my two favorite country artists just released albums: Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs. Not only did they drop albums, but Morgan Wallen's album has 36 songs and Luke Comb's album has 18 songs. This is a very unusual amount of songs on one album.

Despite the lengthy albums, I have listened to both albums nonstop. I will listen to the albums when I work out, grocery shop, or even study. I am determined to learn every lyric before I go to their concerts this year. Honestly, I think that I have listened to the albums over 30 times each and the albums were released in March.

Besides Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs, there have also been many artists going on tour. The two artists that come to my mind that I would love to see are Taylor Swift and SZA. Everyone-- at least the people around me-- have been frantically trying to score tickets and are willing to pay a lot of money-- including me.

SZA has gone on tour because she released SOS, her album. On the other hand, Taylor Swift has gone on tour for all of her released albums. Swift's tour is called Eras as a result. Taylor Swift has a massive fan base and countless hit songs which is why there has been a chaotic ticket scramble. Because of these two artists' tours, I have listened to their songs repeatedly as well. Unfortunately, I missed SZA's tour. However, I am still trying to get Taylor Swift tickets and so I will be continuously playing her music until I memorize her song lyrics.

Hopefully, I can still fit academic knowledge into my brain as I prioritize fitting lyrics into my brain!

  1. Hi Allison!
I really enjoyed reading this post! I also love country music and always find myself listening to Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs as well--they are the best! I haven't listened to either of their new albums yet, but am now very excited. I have heard getting tickets to Taylor Swift's concerts are extremely hard but I hope you get your hands on some tickets soon! Great post!

  2. Hi Allison,
I love music so I really enjoyed reading your post! I'm a proud country listener as well and love Morgan Wallen's new album too. It's crazy that even though his album is 36 songs long, it doesn't have any misses and is a 10. I haven't listened to the entirely of Luke Combs' album yet, but from what I've heard so far, it seems to be pretty good too. I also like Zach Bryan a lot and I'm excited for his next album to come out.

  3. Hi Allison, loved reading about the music you've been enjoying recently! I hate to admit it, though I'm definitely one of those people who despises country music. However, in all honesty I don't think I've ever truly given country music a chance due to having a negative (and probably inaccurate) perception of it. But, because of your rave reviews, maybe I'll give those albums you mentioned a listen!

  4. hey allison! I too have been obsessed with these albums none stop funny enough. My favorite song right now is 'Neon Eyes' by Morgan Wallet and 'that kind of love we make' by Luke Combs. I literally play them so much my roommate knows the words by heart. Sza's new album I think I have listened to over 30 times over since it was released. She is one of my favorite aritists and just announced she is returning to LA to perform in October and I am dying to get tickets. Love this post !

  5. Hi Allison, I loved reading your post! I feel like you have a really clear writing voice that is present in your writing style. At my first university in Texas, I was surrounded by country classics, and before moving to Texas, I didn't think a lot about country music, but now I am such a fan, especially of Morgan Wallen. I wish you all the best with your academic responsibilities and your mission to memorize the lyrics of your favorite songs!

  6. Hi Allison, I am very similar in that I listen to the same artists and albums on repeat for certain periods of time. Often when I find a good song that fits the vibe, I'll double tap the replay logo on Spotify so that the song continues to replay itself. This is often true when I study as well.
